A Little Action, A Big Difference

Calgary Fall 2009 Recognition Night

Our first run of my world, my choice! in Calgary wrapped up with a recognition night for the students that took part in the program. The event was held at A.E. Cross Jr. High School and featured over 15 projects from 100 students taking leadership to make their schools more sustainable.

Get Involved – Volunteers wanted in Guelph-Peel!

We invite interested post-secondary students and young professionals in the Guelph and Mississauga areas to join us to help launch our pilot program in elementary schools for Fall 2009. Calling all Calgarians

Despite the wonderful summer weather Calgary's finally receiving, our thoughts are turning towards gearing up for the Fall school semester. We've signed on with several schools in the Calgary area to run the my world, my choice! program, and we would like enthusiastic individuals to apply to be a mentor! Why become a mentor for the program? Well for starters, it's a wonderful opportuntity to challenge yourself as well as the students you will be teaching.

Extension to Guelph and Peel, Ontario

my world, my choice! is pleased to announce the expansion of activities to Guelph and Peel in Ontario. Over the past few months, a Guelph-Peel project team has come together and recently submitted a feasibility study to expand the my choice! initiative to Ontario. The Guelph-Peel project team is made up of: Stephanie Hajer, Project Coordinator; Tricia Sabessar, Marketing & Communications Coordinator; and Lianne Foti, School Coordinator.

Website launches!

Welcome to the website for my world, my choice! We've officially launched the site and we're glad you've stopped by to check it out! Right now the site serves to explain what our program is about, what we've done in the past, and how you can involve yourself with the my world, my choice project!
Over the coming weeks we will constantly be adding new resources, as well as expanding the site to include an interactive section for mentors and students to engage in further learning and activity. Follow us on twitter or sign up for the newsletter and we will update you when the interactive section of our site goes online.
